First Position

Emory faces life’s challenges at the one place that’s never failed her, the ballet barre. But even the barre can’t steady her when fate brings her face-to-face with her old college flame, Mason, who’s hoping to return to the NFL after a career-threatening injury. Before they can surrender to their sexual desires and find salvation in each other’s arms, they need to come to terms with their past. Mason must confront the demons that have set him on a path of self-destruction, while Emory must decide whether to keep her painful secrets locked away, or expose them and risk losing the love of her life. But nothing can prepare Mason for what Emory has kept hidden, or the possibility that he himself may be to blame for the very secrets she keeps – and why they continue to haunt her.

This book was amazing. I was so sure while reading it that I knew Emory’s secret and if I am honest I was very upset with her. When her secret was finally revealed I was crushed for her. I cried big ugly tears. There were so many times in this book that I wanted to grab Mason and Emory both and yell at them to get their heads out of their asses and just let the feelings take over. Then there is the added bonus of Mason’s mother Kathleen, who when introduced to I hated with a passion. Then she surprised me and turned out to not be so bad, even though she is still a Bitch most of the time, but she will do what it takes to protect her family and you have to admire that. I love Mason’s brother Steven and his spitfire wife Olivia, who says what she thinks no matter what. Just thinking about her blunt way of speaking has me giggling while tying this review. I also cannot forget Wesley, Emory’s wonderful, amazing, and hot roommate and his equally hot boyfriend Tomás. I really connected to each character in this book. With the exception of the bitch Alexis, she was a thorn in my side from the moment I met her. I thoroughly enjoyed the moment she had her manipulative ass handed to her. It actually caused me to smile in a such a way that my husband asked me what I was so happy about. 🙂 I truly enjoyed this story and I cannot wait to read more from Prescott Lane, she is going places no doubt about that. *A*
