Five years
ago an unthinkable tragedy slashed Cait London’s life into two parts: before
she had amnesia and after. Determined to keep her past hidden and start
over, she moves to Chicago and plunges into a new job—all while keeping a
walled distance from everyone she meets.
It’s not
long before Cait reconsiders her solitary existence, and soon she’s stepping
beyond her boundaries and taking unthinkable chances, like crushing on her
impossibly sexy landlord, Evan Wade. He’s flirty, annoying, and with him living
in the same apartment building, she can’t stop thinking about him. If she can
sleep with him once, perhaps she can get him out of her system. The problem is,
Evan seems bulletproof to her advances. As the two develop a connection, it
becomes clear Cait may not succeed before her heart remembers what it feels
like to love.
Ten
Thousand Points of Light
is an immersive contemporary romance about the intensity of first
loves, the heartache of loss, and the power of forgiveness.

Excerpt
In my bathroom, a man kneels on the floor inspecting a gigantic hole of exposed pipes with the roaming beam of a flashlight. I fold my arms and lean into the doorframe.
When I left to meet Aggie everything was functioning. My gaze examines the small room, picking out details: my expensive towels soak up a deluge of water pooling on the tiled floor, there’s a large pile of powdery, crumbled drywall, and then there’s the issue of ass crack—in my face. It is toned and tight, but still, it’s connected to my landlord, Evan Wade.
“Pipes burst, leaking a damn waterfall into 5A,” he says, not bothering to glance my direction.
“Did you have to use my good towels?” I purse my lips.
“I thought about using your sexy lingerie.” He eyes the laundry basket of delicates now sitting on top of the sink. “But the fancy towels seemed like a better option.”
Thanks, appreciate it.” I sidestep him, snatch the basket, and carry it to my bedroom, hiding it in my closet. If he had scrutinized it closer, which he probably did, he would have found an embarrassing amount of granny panties and more sports bras than a Lululemon.
“How long before it’s fixed?” How long before I can get rid of you?
“A week,” his muffled voice answers.
“What?” I race back only to find his sharky grin. Two vertical dimples slice beneath a permanent, mocha-colored five o’clock shadow. They punctuate his bronzy sun-kissed skin, making his caramel eyes gleam with amused delight. My gaze intensifies.
“Just kidding. And you forgot this one.” Evan tosses me a ball of fabric. I catch it and glance at it. My mouth drops open. A smiling kitten stares back from the crotch of a pair of panties. Pussy panties. My cheek temperature flickers between sweaty hot and icy cold.
“Meow.” He chuckles.
I shove Aggie’s gag gift into the pocket of my running pants. “Funny.” I deadpan to appear unaffected.
Still, Evan seems thrilled for tormenting me. It’s something he’s excelled at since the day we met. It may be I’m still tipsy from drinking, but at recalling his history of irritating jokes, I pause. I cock my head and stare at him in confusion when a doubtful revelation hits me. Is this what Aggie was talking about? Is Evan flirting with me? Has he been flirting all this time?
I shake my head. Impossible.
“It’s too late to get the parts I need. So tomorrow.” He wipes his dirty hands on one of my towels, leaving a dark streak. I bite the inside of my cheek to stop from scolding him.
“That’s not going to work. I have an appointment first thing in the morning and I need a shower.” I gesture to my sweaty T-shirt.
“No kidding, Cat, I can smell you from here.”
“It’s Cait, you ass.” I kick off my loose sneaker, tossing it with my toe in his direction. I aim to nail him in the head but he dodges away. The shoe ricochets off the wall, tumbling to the floor.
His grin widens. “I’m kidding, Miss London. You smell like roses, as always.”
“Seriously, what am I going to do?”
“Can’t you use Gusterson’s shower?” He quirks a surly lip because he already knows the answer—no. Mr. Gusterson lives across the hall, but I’ve never seen the man. I’m unsure anyone has.
For this comment, I kick my other shoe in his direction.
“Ow!” This one smacks his sizable bicep, protecting his handsome face. I suppress a triumphant smile.
Evan crouches and stands in one fluid motion of sinewy muscle. He meets my gaze, and then rakes a hand through his tousled chestnut-colored hair. “Fine. You don’t have to beg, Kitty Cat, you can use mine.” He puffs his chest and flashes his brilliant white grin.
Definitely flirting. Though I shouldn’t be surprised. How many times in the last year had I seen him at Mr. Moon’s Coffee House, sitting at a table and flirting with some girl? There were too many times and too many girls to count.
Evan takes his time sliding past, I think, purposely brushing the heat of his body near me. I pin myself against the wall, unwilling to allow our skin to touch. When will he grasp how annoying I find him?
“I’ll pass.” I latch my hands on my hips. This is me sending a clear message. I’m not flirting.
“Suit yourself.” Unswayed, he lumbers for the door.
“What about these tools?” I gesture to his mess.
“I’ll be back tomorrow.” He turns, arms wide, palms skyward and strolls backward with a confident teeter. He’s hitting me with his smile again and those damn dimples, like they’ll make this situation better.
My teeth clench. If I had something else to throw at him I would. When he disappears, I remove my cell from my pocket and text Aggie. Before I do, I glance at my front door, which he left wide open. His footfalls descend the stairs to his apartment on the first floor.

EXCERPT

Now that I’m alone I reach under my shirt and remove this burden of a bra.
I was not lacking at all in that department. I hate them.

“Need some help with that?” Nathan’s deep voice surprises me and I throw it
at him not thinking.

“What the fuck, Nathan. Don’t sneak up on me,” I say, covering myself.

He chuckles. “I didn’t. I walked in as Jessa left. I just assumed you saw
me.”

“Um, no. Now turn around so I can put the damn thing back on.”

“No need. I’m just grabbing a file and heading home.”

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah. I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine.”

“Brittany, you almost seem like you care,” he says, grabbing his chest.

“I wouldn’t go that far. That eye isn’t too good for business, though.”

“I think I look pretty bad ass actually,” he says, showing me that
beautiful smile. “I think you approve, too,” He nods at my chest. I look
down and see my nipples are hard, poking through my blouse. Damn them. I
quickly cover up again and he chuckles walking back to his office. I’m
mortified.

He comes back and I can’t help but be nosy. “Did your crazy ex give you
that black eye?”

“Why would you think that?”

“I don’t know. Am I right?”

“Hardly.” He grins, sitting on the edge of my desk.

“Seriously, Nathan. Why do you have to piss me off? If my desk breaks,
you’re buying me a new one. Get the fuck off.”

“I told you, I like to get under your skin. It’s fun. You’re so feisty. And
I won’t break your desk by sitting on it. I could think of other ways to
break it though,” he says, narrowing his eyes on me.

I won’t look at him. I’m not feeding into that. “So, you’re really not
gonna tell me what happened?”

“Nope. Why do you want to know so bad?”

“I don’t know. You just don’t seem like the fighting type.” He laughs, like
cracks up laughing. “What the fuck is so funny?”

“You. You don’t know me at all, but you think you have me all figured out.”

“I didn’t say that. Don’t put words in my fucking mouth. I clearly stated
that I don’t take you as a fighter. The black eye and all. You must have
pissed someone off. You don’t want to talk about it. Fine. I wouldn’t
either, if I got my ass whooped.”

Nathan leans down, putting his hands on either side of me on my desk, eye
level with me, he catches me off guard being so close. I gasp and can’t
look away. His eyes are the most beautiful color green I’ve ever seen.
They’re smoldering. He’s so close, and looking at my lips as if he’s going
to kiss me; my heart begins to pound into my throat. Time seems to stand
still. He looks into my eyes with a cheeky grin and says, “I never get my
ass whooped, sweetheart.”

He stands. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He chuckles on the way out the door.

I release the breath I didn’t realize I was holding. That bastard. What the
hell? Why did I just sit there? Why didn’t I push him away? Why didn’t I
kiss him? Why the fuck am I thinking like this? I need to get a grip.

Legally Yours AND Legally Mine

So let’s talk all things legal. Now Nicole takes you into the world of law student Skylar and the drama that ensues as the man in her life turns out to be her very sexy, very powerful boss. Well at least for a little while. Brandon is ripped from the pages sexy. He is the whole package of everything you could dream of in a book boyfriend, well most people’s book boyfriend’s anyhow. Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty, Nicole is an incredible writer, her attention to detail is AMAZING! The scenery, the cast of characters, the steamy scenes…the details she puts into everything are intricate and beautiful. I fell in love with Boston as I read this book. I was less attached to Skylar than I wanted to be. In book one she was an intern and law student and we took a look inside her world as she navigated being and intern and finishing up school all while trying to figure out what was going on with her life. We meet Brandon, a rich and powerful lawyer who becomes the love interest of the book. Rags to richest kinda guy who goes after love in ways that are unconventional and overwhelming, with a power trip complex. He is not necessarily my type of guy, but he is hot. The side cast of characters are fun and complex. I adore Bubbe and Jane and Eric and I love that we get more of them in book two. Book two is where the story really picks up. Skylar is finding her way on her own, Brandon is finding his way to be with her and we come to some really intense moments that I won’t spoil for you. The twist at the end of the book actually had me hanging there with my mouth open. I was waiting for the next page that wasn’t there. Nicole wrote her heart out for these books and it shows. She did and amazing job and I can’t wait to see what she creates next.

New Cover!!! Crave – E.K. Blair

CRAVEpt1 resize Amazon eBook

So my lovelies, this is the BRAND NEW cover for the hot and heavy book by E.K. Blair. Not your average love story, Crave gives you a little bit of sweet with a lot of heat and a twist of insanity. I have to say I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading it. I found myself drawn into the characters and their story. I really relate to Adaline straight off the bat, she is so personable and took me right back to high school and how I fit in. I have to admit I wasn’t right into Kason straight off the bat, his personality was a little off putting but I suppose that is right where it was supposed to be. It took me a little while to warm up to them. The love story in between is edgy and intense. E.K. really took the time to research what she was getting into and was incredibly smart in the way she took the twist in the book and wrote about it. It was a subject that I think could have been focused on a little more with an older audience but what she used it for was done well. Her cast of characters were colorful and never left me asking questions. I am very curious to see how the story continues to play out.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Apryl Baker…

So who am I? Well, I’m the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friend Chazz laughs at me when I scare myself watching them and tells me to stop watching them, but who doesn’t love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.

Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there’s always someone to tell your mama you were seen kissing a particular boy on a particular day just a little too long. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled “Lord Margrave’s Deception.” I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters.

Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my niece and nephew and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce…lol.

I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.

Blurb:

What’s the point of falling in love if it only breaks your heart?

Skylar Crosby should be on top of the world. She’s just graduated from the best law school in the country and is supposed to kick-start a successful career. But with her father still recovering from his gambling addiction, her absentee mother suddenly reappearing in her life, and the stresses of studying for the bar exam, Skylar is feeling more like she’s holding the world up rather than standing on top of it. And then, of course, there’s the matter of her utterly smashed heart.

In just a few short months, brilliant attorney and all-around tycoon Brandon Sterling quickly became the sun to Skylar’s universe only to twist it upside down and inside out with his secrets, leaving her with a decision to make that will change both of their lives forever. And although Brandon can’t forget the girl who gave him back his heart, sudden changes in his own complicated life will make getting her back that much more difficult. Luckily, Brandon Sterling has never been one to walk away from a challenge.

Even when the whole world seems united against them, it’s possible that they are their own worst enemies. Legally Mine, the second book in the explosive Spitfire series, continues the saga of Skylar and Brandon as two stubborn, intelligent, damaged people trying to learn how to let themselves love and be loved return.

Sexy young man

Excerpt:

We stared at each other, bristling and irritated. Finally, eager to break the stare-off, I pushed off the wall with my feet to float on my back. I stretched toward the opposite end of the pool, arching in a way that made my breasts peak toward the ceiling, then flipped backward until I popped up again through the water. When I surfaced, Brandon was watching intently, a different kind of fire in his ice-blue eyes. Did he wanted to strangle me or eat me alive? It was hard to tell the difference.

“I know what you’re doing,” he said finally, low and almost menacing.

I continued to tread water, then flipped over again, slowing my movements even more. “Do you?”

“Get out of there, will you?” Brandon reached a hand out, beckoning me to swim back.

I just stared at it. “No,” I said. “I’m not done with my workout.”

I rolled backward through the water once more, then resurfaced to find Brandon standing up. His face looked like murder, but the tenting in his pants spoke of something else.

“Get out of the pool, Red,” Brandon said, barely concealing his frustration.

“Stop telling me what to do.”

“I’m not joking. Get out.”

“No.”

“Get out of the fuckin’ pool, Skylar!” Brandon shouted, his South Boston accent out in full force. He thrust both hands into his hair and yanked. “Fuck!”

I just kept treading while sounds of the water lapping on the sides of the pool filled the space between us. Brandon stared at me, then dropped his hands.

“Fine,” he said as he started to remove his vest. “Have it your way.” He unbuttoned his shirt and tossed them both on the lounge chair next to him.

“What are you doing?” I asked as he started pulling off his shoes and socks, which then joined the clothes.

“What do you think?” Brandon snapped as he unbuckled his belt. “You won’t come out, so I’m coming in.”

“In your underwear?”

He pulled off his pants and threw them on top of his other things. He now stood in front of me in nothing but his boxer briefs, his perfectly sculpted body, including his sizable erection, on display for anyone to see. The reflected light glimmered over the broad lines of his shoulders and pectorals, the v-shaped muscles of his abdomen, the lean, long shapes of his thighs. Now he was the one who looked like a Greek statue.

I bit my lip, willing the heat building in my core to calm down.

“Well, it’s either that or nothing at all,” Brandon said just before he jumped in with a splash.

Tall as he was, he didn’t need to tread water, but he still dipped underwater and surfaced like some kind of mythical sea god. The water glistened on his muscles as he tracked me like a shark.

My legs somehow kept circling, but the rest of me stilled. I wasn’t in the mood to be pounced on, as Brandon sometimes did. He often used sex as a Band-Aid, and right now, I wasn’t okay with that, even if the water droplets sliding over his pecs were getting me pretty hot and bothered.

My instincts took over: fight or flight. I dove underneath the blue lane barrier and swam to the corner of the pool. Before I could climb up the ladder, though, I found myself caged by two tanned, rock-hard arms.

“I don’t think so.”

Brandon’s voice vibrated in my ear, and I froze. I turned slowly, and he released his grip on the ladder, backing off just enough so that I could turn around. His gaze bored into me like a drill. But it wasn’t just the intensity in his eyes that pinned me to the ledge; it was the hurt there as well.

“You can’t keep doing this,” Brandon said in a low, taut voice.

Around me, his body was pulled tight as a drum. The evening had taken a toll on him too.

“You can’t keep running away every time I do something you don’t like.”

“I don’t––”

“You do,” he cut me off gently.

We were close enough that he didn’t need to raise his voice. Around me, his muscles flexed even more.

“Every time. My office. The airport. After you found out about Miranda, about Messina’s payoff. That night at the club. And now tonight. If I railroad, Red, you run.”

I heard my grandmother’s words to me in Brooklyn after I had escaped there in April. She had compared me to my mother, who couldn’t even stand beside me for the length of a party. And now I was becoming just like her.

“My life is complicated,” Brandon continued. “I know that. I know it’s not easy for you. But I am yours, Skylar, body and soul. But I can’t be yours if you’re not mine too.”
